American Sangria Challenge Wine Competition
Jasper Winery Wins Best-in-Show in American Sangria Challenge
Tryon, North Carolina – The inaugural American Sangria Challenge Wine Competition announces nineteen medal winning sangria entries. The competition was organized by JenNis Beverage Marketing, a Carolina based group focused on marketing the craft beverage industry.
The goal of the American Sangria Challenge is to increase awareness of it’s participating commercially licensed producers. JenNis Beverage Marketing co-owner Dennis Turner stated, “We focus on promoting the craft beverages enjoyed by customers of smaller family-owned producers.”
JW Sangria from Jasper Winery in Des Moines, Iowa, won Best-in-Show and double gold medals by out-scoring twenty other entrants from six different states. Three of the six judges marked the JW Sangria a perfect score in flavor. Judges comments on the Best-in-Show winning sangria included, great nose, fruit really shines, excellent flavor with prominent fruit, crisp and refreshing, great balance, and outstanding!
Additional top winners were the double gold medal winning Raspea Sangria from Old Rock Quarry Winery in Enoree, South Carolina. The Kan-gria from Parker-Binns Vineyard and Winery in Tryon, North Carolina and Wildberry Blast Sangria from Olney Winery in Olney, Maryland both won gold medals. The competition also awarded five silver medals and ten bronze medals.
A panel of six highly qualified industry focused judges evaluated the entries by blind tasting. “We are very pleased with the overall execution of the event, the quality and quantity of sangria wines entered, and the extremely qualified panel of judges for our inaugural American Sangria Challenge” – stated JenNis Beverage Marketing co-owner Jenni Turner.
