Crimson Sunset – Shadow Springs Vineyard

Our wine tonight is the Crimson Sunset Red Wine from Shadow Springs Vineyard in North Carolina’s Yadkin Valley AVA.

Yadkin Valley AVA

Blend of estate grown Cabernet Franc and Merlot.

Decanted 30 minutes.

Medium ruby in color.

Medium intensity nose of red plum, red cherry, and raspberry.

Off dry, medium bodied with approachable medium tannins.

Flavor notes of red plum, red cherry, cranberry, raspberry, vanilla, cedar, and a medium hazelnut and caramel finish.

A very good drinking red blend.

$20 a bottle.

Ships most states via VinoShipper. ➡️ Click Here

Shadow Springs Vineyard and their nearby sister winery Windsor Run Cellars can be found within a half mile of each other in the Hamptonville community.

Owners Chuck and Jamie Johnson have built something special out in their neck of the Yadkin Valley woods. It’s not uncommon to see a horse and buggy traveling down the road in front of the winery as an established Amish settlement is just nearby. The entire vibe just seems to be a get away from the norm.

Don’t forget leave time for a tasting at WRC Distillery. Yes, on site, a distillery just below the Windsor Run Cellars tasting room. Crafting liquors from their estate grown grapes.
