Many of the area vineyards offer upscale rustic cabins for overnight accommodations. Roaring River offers cabins right by the river, while Elkin Creek has several secluded cabins just below the winery.

You won’t find large commercialized mass production wineries in the Yadkin Valley AVA. Even the largest producing wineries are family owned. Many of these families have roots deeply planted in the region.

From Mount Airy, the small town of which Andy Griffith’s Mayberry is based, to Elkin which features charming downtown restaurants and small retail shops. The alluring character of the regions small towns is worthy of a travelers admiration.
